TRU Aseptics recently acquired the former WILD Flavors/ADM aseptic plant in Beloit and is in the process of re-commissioning all major components of the 63,000 square foot facility. This includes a new, state-of-the-art Alfa Laval Bag in Box high speed filler for low and high acid aseptic for 1-6 gallons with virtually unlimited fitment options; and a LiquiBox Star Asept filler for bulk aseptic filling of 55 drums, 275-370 gallon totes, and 5,000 gallon tankers. The plant is anticipated to be FDA validated and ready for aseptic production on or before September 1, 2017
According to TRU Aseptics CEO Jim Hurley, this will be among the most flexible and advanced aseptic processing facilities in North America. It will be the only facility able to blend, compound, unitize and aseptically fill both low and high acid products including coffee, tea, vegetable & fruit, smoothie, dairy and plant-based dairy alternative ingredients. The aseptic pilot plant will process batches from 200 to 1,500 gallons, with other lines will offering a maximum of 24,000 gallons of continuous processing within a daily 20-hour operating run.
